Dahn Yoga members from all around New Mexico gathered to celebrate Earth Day and the spirit of ‘Mago’ through an intense Ki-Gong workshop. The workshop was led by Instructor Jung Ae Kim, black-belt Dahn Mu Do, and regional director of Dahn Yoga New Mexico.
Ki-Gong, the exercise of life’s vital energy, includes methods of accumulating, circulating, and working with the Ki energy in the body. A happy and peaceful mind is the result.
Earth day was a perfect time to gather and focus on our bodies as a part of this earth. Earth is the provider of all sustanance. We all should have a sense of ownership and guardianship over our body and our precious planet. Ki-gong develops that sense of ownership. Through the practice a feeling of well being and an abundance of emotion surfaces; emotions like appreciation for the air we breath, the unconditional support we receive from this earth, and an understanding that we are connected to everyone and everything. We are all earth citizens, first and foremost, before we are man or woman, black or white, American or Korean. If we would live our lives from this belief we could create a healthier, happier, and more peaceful world.
