Ilchi Lee on Connection

Human being is a part of the Earth. I always thought that my friends from rural parts of the country have different attitudes and experiences about the nature than those from urban parts. I don’t think which one is better than the other, but there is for sure strong and weak points to both parts. Ilchi Lee says on connection with the Earth, in his new book Brain Wave Vibration.

When we say human being is a part of the entire earth life system, it is natural that human’s health is closely connected with positive experience of and interaction with nature. Ilchi Lee says, since the Industrial Revolution, humankind has become increasingly disconnected from the Earth. I can see that many children and young students suffer from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. In urban circumstances, we have lots of things to distract us from concentrating on something. There are lots of information coming from outside, such as from TV, newspaper, video game, movies, etc. Among them, how much information is what we ourselves created for ourselves.

We are taking others’ information not necessarily with proper accessment. Connection with the Earth is important. As we disconnect from nature, we also seem to disconnect from each other; our relationships sour and our mental health is compromised.

I have to agree with you about people becoming disconnected from the earth and from other people. The social media and all the other hype fills our brains with so much garbage that we go into information overload and eventually we have a hard time distinguishing the truth from what they tell us and then we start believing them. Pretty soon we think that we are the most important thing in the universe and no one else matters but “me”. We forget that we are all a part of the big picture and no one person is more important than the other but we are all vital to the working of the world and nature. We must all remember and teach our young that it is not about us but it is about God and helping other people.

    Peace
